Tiegan is 18 years old. She is the eldest of three children and regularly cares for her younger sisters while her parents work. She cooks, cleans and helps them with their homework. In her spare time Tiegan looks after her horses, enjoys cooking and baking, and likes attending festivals and concerts.
Tiegans grandmother is a foster carer and has had several children with complex needs over the years. This has taught her to be open-minded, respectful and have a non-judgmental manner. This has led her to show empathy, and to have a greater understanding that all children come from diverse backgrounds and all have different needs.
Tiegan has started her Forest School qualification and she is also undertaking her Outdoor First Aid.
”I love working at Trees and Seas Outdoor Adventures. We learn and play in the forest and at the seaside. We do various tasks throughout the sessions like making fires, art and crafts, den building with natural resources, while learning all about nature. We also make hot chocolate or roast marshmallows which the children love.
I love working outside in the fresh air, and love the freedom I have when we are outdoors. I feel the outdoors has a positive impact on mental/spiritual health and overall well-being. This is why I love working at Trees and Seas to promote children’s health and well-being. I love the way Jill brings all the children together and I have seen them building new relationships and problem solving together as a team.“
